6 bombshell Sophie Turner claims against Joe Jonas – and his scathing responses

Sophie Turner breaks silence after confirming split with Joe Jonas

Following Joe Jonas’ shock divorce filing earlier this month, Sophie Turner has accused the Jonas Brothers star of “wrongful retention” of their children in the US, also claiming he is keeping their passports to stop them from returning to the UK with her.

In the court documents, the 27-year-old Game of Thrones star and mother-of-two makes six bombshell claims against her estranged husband, with the 34-year-old recently sharing brutal responses through his representatives.

Move to the UK

HBO star Sophie’s court filings obtained by Daily Express US claim they made a mutual decision to make their “forever home” in England and had relocated with their two daughters across the Atlantic in early April.

It noted as Joe and Sophie’s schedules got busy, with Hollywood actress Sophie filming her new series Joan in the UK and Joe on a world tour with his brothers Nick and Kevin, the pair agreed the children would “temporarily” stay with their father until Joan’s production ended when the actress would go to the US to pick up their children and “return home to England” with them.

However, Joe’s representatives told TMZ the actress had only “advised” she wanted to take the children to England on Monday and later “demanded” their passports in order to “take them out of the country immediately”.

While they noted he is “okay” with the children being raised in both countries, the representatives brutally declared Sophie has only turned to the courts “to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and to remove the children from the U.S. permanently.”

Joe is withholding the children’s passports

The court documents claim Joe’s attorney declared on Tuesday he would “not return the passports”, did “not consent for the children to return home to England” and as a result, the Game of Thrones star took to the courts in both the US and England.

Joe’s representative in their own statement claimed if the singer obliged Sophie’s requests he would be “in violation” of a Florida Court order made by the court handling their divorce, which restricted both parents from relocating their children.

They also condemned the use of the word “abduction” saying it was “misleading at best” and insisting: “The children were not abducted.”

The court documents noted the children are “currently temporarily physically located” with Sophie in New York.

They broke up “very suddenly” after an argument on his birthday

Sophie’s court filings noted she and Joe had an “argument” on August 15, the Disney star’s birthday, and pointed out he filed for divorce just over two weeks later.

Further revealing how sudden their split had been, the documents revealed Sophie and Joe’s UK home is only set to be completed in December and both Hollywood stars “looked forward” to spending Christmas in their new home.

While Joe’s response didn’t directly address how sudden their split was, it did not that there had been “multiple conversations” between the pair before Joe filed the divorce documents.

Sophie found out about the divorce through the media

One simple yet striking sentence in the documents declares four days after Joe filed for divorce, Sophie “found out through the media”.

Joe made “incorrect” claims in the divorce filings

Sophie’s court documents claim Joe’s divorce filings “incorrectly claim” their daughters “resided in Florida”.

Joe’s response claimed the children had been with him in the US, as part of their agreement prior to their split, for the past three months and that his main concern is simply the “well-being” of the children.

Joe and Sophie met up over the weekend

The documents reveal the pair “met to discuss their separation” on Sunday in New York, where Sophie “reiterated” the reportedly agreed-upon plans for the children to return to England with her but Joe continued to refuse to hand over their passports.

However, Joe’s representatives claimed he left the meeting with the impression they “would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup”.

Daily Express US has contacted Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s representatives for comment.
