Controversy-plagued actor calls gala worker a 'peasant,' more news

A server at a fancy New York City gala claims Alec Baldwin called her a “peasant” for doing her job. The woman, who was not identified, was working as a “sweep leader” at the 2023 PEN America Spring Literary Gala last week, which means she’s in charge of telling the servers when and how to present food to guests. “I was going to feed the head of the table but that’s who [Alec] was talking to, so I go up to him and I say, ‘I’m sorry sir, but we’re going to have servers walking through the tables here in a minute,'” she told Page Six. The “Rust” star wanted to schmooze and wasn’t sympathetic to the server’s jobs, she contends. “So when is it a good time to talk to my friends?” she claims a “very agitated” Alec asked. He then allegedly told her to “step aside” while continuing the conversation. “Afterwards, many of my co-workers came up to me and said, ‘Do you know what he said while you were walking away?’ I didn’t catch it because I was focused on my work but apparently he was calling me a peasant,” she claims, and was “clearly mad that I told him kindly, ‘Excuse me.'” A second source told Page Six that “The Departed” star “was scolding” the server.

Because I’m happy

Taylor Swift is making tens of thousands of fans happy every time she takes the stage on her Eras Tour, but it’s the songstress who’s actually smiling these days. “I kinda just feel like telling you, I don’t know, I’ve just never been this happy in my life—in all aspects of my life—ever before,” she said on stage during a concert in Foxborough, Mass., over the weekend. As the “Midnights” singer has been dating The 1975’s Matty Healy, many believe the statement was her way of subtly referring to the romance. Then, prior to playing “Questions…?,” she said, “I just want to thank you for being a part of that. I don’t know, it’s not just the tour. I just sort of feel like my life feels like it finally makes sense. So I thought I’d play this song, which brings me a lot of happy memories.”

Mom life

Parenting is not for the faint of heart — that’s what Kim Kardashian has learned. While on the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast, which was published by People, the reality TV star got candid about challenges of parenthood, noting she she cries herself to sleep many nights. “Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldn’t be, like, a more true statement,” she said. “So, like, when you’re in it, I mean, especially when they’re babies and you’re feeding … there’s madness going on. It’s like full madness. It’s the best chaos though.” While describing what mornings are like with North, 9, Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4, she said, “You have no idea what’s going. It’s like, I always have to do one of my daughter’s hair — and it has to be perfect and it has to be a certain way — and then this one needs me to put his shoes on and they all need you. … It’s like full crazy madness, cooking, running around. Like, it’s wild.” Kim has learned more about herself via parenting than anything else. “It has been the most challenging thing,” she said, adding, “There are nights I cry myself to sleep. … Like, what just happened? You know, with all the moods and the personalities and sometimes they’re fighting, and there’s no one there. Like, it’s [just] me to play good cop and bad cop. So that, like, is definitely a challenge.” Still, she acknowledges that parenting is also “the most rewarding job in the entire world.”

Just say no

Miley Cyrus’ touring days may be over. It’s been nearly a decade since the “Flowers” singer went out on the road, and she’s perfectly happy not touring again. “After the last [headline tour] I did, I kind of looked at it as more of a question,” she explained to British Vogue. “And I can’t. Not only can’t, because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?” There’s no question that the 2014 Bangerz tour was highly successful, as Miley filled stadiums around the world, but she prefers a much simpler performing experience. “Like singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love,” said Miley. “There’s no connection. There’s no safety.” Of the experience of performing in arenas and stadiums, she added, It’s “also not natural; it’s so isolating because you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone.”

Break-in victim

A homeless man was arrested and booked into jail for felony burglary after breaking into Owen Wilson’s home. While there, the man even put on the actor’s pajamas. TMZ reports that the break-in occurred on May 16, and Owen’s assistant came face-to-face with the intruder. After the encounter, both the intruder and the assistant ran in separate directions. Police soon rushed to the area and nabbed the burglar, who was still nearby and still wearing Owen’s nighties. It doesn’t appear that anything other than the sleepwear was taken. In addition, police don’t believe the man knew the home belonged to the “Wedding Crashers” star.

Family money matters

When it comes to paying child support, Nick Cannon plays by his own rules. The “Masked Singer” host and father of 12 explained how he financially supports his children without the courts. “I don’t care about that stuff. I believe true currency is your energy. I wish I could make a contract [that says,] ‘You cannot take this much of my energy when you leave,'” he said on Jason Lee’s podcast. “Money comes and goes. I always tell people, ‘Money don’t make you happy. Happy makes you money.’ So I’m always going to be good, and every dollar that I make is for my family.” Nick noted the six women he shares children with all have access to his bank account, so he’s “not in the child support system that is run by the government.” He added, “My money is they money, they money is my money. They can have whatever they want, whatever they ask for. My account is their account, and there’s a lot in there, so we ain’t gon’ run out.”

Family still feuding?

Priscilla Presley was on hand to watch her granddaughter’s graduate from middle school, but she kept her distance from the rest of her family and left the event on her own. While Priscilla watched Lisa Marie Presley’s twin daughters — Harper and Finley —graduate, Lisa’s eldest daughter, Riley Keough, did not attend the ceremony. Elvis’ former wife has been at odds with her family as they’ve argued over who should control the late Lisa Marie’s trust. Last week, Priscilla, Riley and Michael Lockwood, the father of Lisa’s twins, came to an agreement. “My family has resolved all confusion as it relates to our plea to the court and request for document interpretation after my daughter Lisa Marie’s untimely passing,” Priscilla said in a statement. “Although some media identified such a plea as a lawsuit, I want to make clear that there was never any lawsuit filed against my beloved granddaughter.”
