Dancing On Ice slams claims stars are livid over Vanessa Bauer living with boyfriend

Dancing on Ice: Joe-Warren Plant trains with Vanessa Bauer

A source from Dancing On Ice 2021 has denied that there is any resentment towards professional skater Vanessa Bauer due to her living situation. The star, who is competing with Emmerdale star Joe-Warren Plant, 18, has reportedly continued living with her boyfriend Rory McCall as the latest series is underway.

A source had reportedly claimed Vanessa’s fellow Dancing On Ice stars were feeling “livid” about the situation, as other couples have been instructed to split from families to reduce the risks of infection amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The source added: “It feels like one rule for some and another for the rest of us.”

A second source reportedly said: “We are being ultra-cautious about everything because we all want the series to be safe, but if Vanessa is living with her boyfriend that’s an obvious issue.

“We don’t know who he might come into contact with.

“It’s just not in the spirit of how other people have agreed to behave.”

However, an ITV source has hit back at the reports, insisting that only the married couples who are both on the show have been parted for safety reasons, and they have “all happily agreed” to the rules.

The show source explained in reference to the rumours: “It’s only the married couples (there are two so four pro skaters in total) who are both on the show who are parted because we wouldn’t mix cohorts (the pairings on the show) and they’ve all happily agreed to this.

“There are many pros and celebs on the series who have partners and families who are not in the cast that they’re able to travel home to.”

The source went on to insist that Vanessa is not getting any kind of preferential treatment and that her living arrangements follow the rules.

They added in an exclusive statement to Express.co.uk: “Vanessa’s not any different to the majority of the cast (and there is no resentment amongst the married couples for any of them) and her living arrangements are entirely compliant with rules.”

Express.co.uk has also contacted Vanessa’s representatives for comment.

Dancing On Ice are taking social distancing rules seriously to allow the show to go on this year.

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean recently revealed they’ll be kept apart for the first time in 40 years due to ITV’s guidelines.

Choreographer Christopher admitted in a new interview: “I can’t touch Jayne and dance with her and skate with her.

“We have to have two-metre separation or a screen, and talk through masks off camera. It’s surreal.”

His skating partner Jayne added to The Mirror: “I haven’t met Chris in person this year, it will be strange I can’t give him a hug, I will have to keep remembering.

“Lots of my friends have said for the last couple of weeks, ‘We really need this now’.

“I can’t wait and I hope the viewers are going to enjoy it.”

Married skaters Robin Johnstone and Andy Buchanan, partnered with Rufus Hound and Becky Vardy, are understood to have agreed not to mix for the duration of the series.

Bosses have also reportedly cancelled professional spray tans, with stars tested weekly and urged to avoid public transport.
