Danielle Armstrongs husband mistook her for a stripper during raunchy wedding dance

Every woman dreams of looking their best on their wedding day. So it was less than ideal when former TOWIE star Danielle Armstrong was mistaken for a stripper during the couple’s wedding dance!

After their traditionally romantic first dance to So Amazing by Luther Vandross the pair had planned a huge fireworks display for guests, even promising a surprise at 9pm on the invitations. However, because of the temperatures recently, the venue had banned fireworks so Danielle took matters into her own hands to pull off a surprise for her and Tom’s 100 guests!

Unbeknown to the guests – and even Tom – Danielle had a special surprise in store.

Danielle explained: “I thought, ‘Well, I’m going to have to give them a surprise!’ So I said to myself, ‘I’m literally going to be the surprise!’

The star, 34 reveals that, after changing into a sequin mini dress she did a “full-on Beyonce” performance. “I came out to her new song Break My Soul. I didn’t even practise. I had a couple of tequila shots and just went for it. I was twerking.”

But the pair, who met at school when they were just 11 years old, say that Danielle’s raunchy dance even had Tom confused. Danielle says: “Tom thought a stripper had turned up!”

Tom laughs: “I was like, ‘Who’s that?’ I thought someone had stitched me up!”

But that wasn’t the only surprise that the magic day brought with it and both of them were overwhelmed when their venue, Ashridge House in Hertfordshire, pulled out all the stops for them to make up for not being able to provide fireworks.

Danielle explains that they were taken outside while [their wedding singer] Luke Burr sang and played Is This Love by Bob Marley on the piano surrounded by sparklers.

“It was beautiful,” Danielle says. “Because they couldn’t do the fireworks, the venue set up the surprise for us. They dragged me off the dance floor and took us into the middle of the grounds where it was pitch black. We danced for an hour, just us two – it was like a film.”

Tom adds: “It’s a memory that will stay with me forever.”

That wasn’t the only performance of the night though as the pair reveal that two of their former TOWIE co-stars were battling it out for a performance spot!

“I think Arg [James Argent] was itching to get up on the mic, but he didn’t,” Danielle tells us. “Jess [Wright] did, though. She got up and sang.”

Danielle adds that because TOWIE was “such a big part of her life” it was only right her former co-stars played a part in the day.

“Us girls spent so much time together. It was me, Ferne [McCann] and Jess on the dance floor and Jess turned around and said, ‘We finally got what we deserved, girls.’ We were cuddling each other, it was so special.”
