Debbie McGee admitted she was looking forward to finding love again following the death of husband Paul Daniels. The star opened up about this earlier in the year as she reflected on his death in an unearthed interview.
Debbie and Paul were married for 28 years before his untimely death in March 2016.
While the television star was heartbroken over his passing, she has now shared her hopes for the future.
Speaking back in February, Debbie admitted she would love to meet someone new.
She told the Sunday People: “It would be lovely to meet somebody.”
Debbie admitted she hasn’t been in a relationship with anyone since Paul died at the time.
“I’m not seeing anyone and haven’t been in a relationship with anybody since Paul died, but if I met the right person I could definitely see myself finding love again now.
“When Paul died I felt completely lost. I didn’t know who I was anymore or whether people would want to know me without Paul.
“But now I feel very comfortable with who I am and I’m much stronger.”
She added: “But it would be lovely to meet somebody. I’m not going to go hunting, as they say.
“I’m not out looking for it. I think if it’s going to happen it will. What’s meant to be will be.”
This isn’t the first time, she has opened up about her hopes for the future.
Chatting on Good Morning Britain back in April 2019, the star echoed her sentiment.
She said: “I do think I will in the future but I’m not worried if I don’t.
“It has to be with the right person.
“There are some people who are just trying to fill that gap, or give them support or replace that person.
“I think, I really know, it’s wrong to try and replace that person.”
Debbie and Paul worked together for a decade before they married in 1988.
She was the late magician’s assistant on his shows.
Debbie will be appearing on screens twice today.
First of all, viewers can catch her in a repeat of ITV’s Tipping Point.
As well as this, she will be joining other famous faces in Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel.
She’ll appear alongside Claudia Winkleman, Jamie Laing and Patrick Grant in the game show.
