Back in 2018, Mallory was interviewed by Atlanta journalist Kirby Carroll in a clip posted on YouTube at the time.

In it, she revealed that the death of one of her sorority sisters at the age of 29 had been what motivated her to lose weight.

She explained: ‘I was literally waking up every day like… this may be my last day waking up, like, I don’t know what’s going to happen for me.

‘When it’s playing on your mind that I might need to do something about my weight, because I’m afraid I might die too, then you might need to pay attention to something like that.’

She also revealed in the interview that she weighed around 329 pounds at her heaviest.

Also in 2018, Mallory said that she wound up on the ABC series after initially trying to get on the NBC series The Biggest Loser.

‘I saw an ad for Biggest Loser on a commercial; they had just left Atlanta, their last stop was in Cleveland,’ Mallory told the outlet Rare in 2018, according to the New York Post. ‘I booked a ticket and I didn’t get picked for Biggest Loser but they forwarded my information to Extreme.’

Mallory said that reps from Extreme Weight Loss contacted her, and she has followed her spiritual path ever since.

‘Literally, every footstep since then has been God,’ Mallory said. ‘I prayed over that application before I sent it off. I prayed every step of the way.’

When she wrapped the show, Brandi weighed in at 178.

According to her obituary, her funeral will take place on Monday, November 20 in Georgia.
