Grammys host Trevor Noah mocks Prince Harry in awkward moment

Trevor Noah couldn't help but mock Prince Harry over a revelation he made his memoir Spare as he hosted the 2023 Grammy Awards on 5 February.

As music's biggest stars from Harry Styles to Beyoncé gathered into the Cryto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, the comedian took the opportunity to poke fun at the Duke of Sussex's autobiography, which dominated headlines after its release in early January.

He made the awkward joke while introducing the host of The Late Late Show on stage to present an award, as he said: "James Corden is a 12-time Emmy winner and the host of The late Late Show…"

The 38 year old added: "He's also living proof that a man can move from London to L.A. And not tell everyone about his frostbitten penis."

Viewers immediately flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the dig at the Duke, 38, as one person shared: "the joke Trevor did about prince Harry was genius! loved it #GRAMMYs," followed by a celebration hands emoji.

Another said: "Did Trevor Noah just diss Prince Harry while introducing James Cordon? Honestly the highlight of the whole ceremony for me," alongside a crying with laughter emoji.

A third commented: "LMFAO THE WAY TREVOR NOAH JUST CAME FOR PRINCE HARRY #GRAMMYs," as a fourth person posted: "I bet Harry wasn’t expecting that!"

While other argued that even Harry would have found the funny side to this rather than taking it as a diss towards him. They said: "I’m sure Harry found it funny. He has a good sense of humor."

In his book Spare, which was published on 10 January, Harry spoke about his painful experience with frostbite, which he had while attending his brother Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding back in April 2011.

Writing about how he developed it while on a 200-mile Arctic charity walk, he explained that the frostbite affected his ears, cheeks and "todger".

In the extract, which was originally leaked by PageSix, he wrote: "Pa was very interested, and sympathetic about the discomfort of my frost nipped ears and cheek", adding that he didn't want to overshare about his penis.

"While the ears and cheeks were already healing, the todger wasn’t. It was becoming more of an issue by the day."

Following the wedding, he said he went to the doctor after attempting to use Elizabeth Arden cream – a favourite of his late mum Princess Diana – to solve the issue.

After sharing this rather strange story, Harry then went on to discuss more about his penis, revealing that he is in fact circumcised, despite rumours suggesting otherwise.

He wrote: “Mummy had forbidden it, they all said, and while it’s absolutely true that the chance of getting penile frostbite is much greater if you’re not circumcised, all the stories were false. I was snipped as a baby.”
