Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas, 60, has opened up about her latest health scare in an honest admission. The star opened up about having a “worrying cyst” which left her taking multiple trips to the hospital.
The dancer and television personality admitted she’d been left feeling down over the issue as well as her symptoms from long Covid.
She explained: “I got the Covid virus and then they found a ganglion cyst or a tumour in my shoulder.
“I am going backwards and forwards to the hospital all the time.
“I feel I seem to be getting sicker by the minute. I can’t seem to get up and out.”
The Strictly star then revealed the doctors have not yet pinpointed what the cause of the issue is.
She added to The Mirror: “They are not really sure what it is yet.
“They’ve done the dye and the MRIs and this and that.
“I’ve been back so many times, and I go for the results in a few weeks…
“They put the words ‘ganglion’ and ‘tumour’ in the same bracket.”
However, Shirley continued: “The gentleman seems to think it will be fine but still it is worrying.”
Earlier this month, the Strictly head judge shared a video of her in the hospital.
Posting on Instagram a few weeks ago, she appeared in a gown and mask as she described what had happened.
She penned: “Good morning, how’s your day going? Mine started with the hospital visit.”
Shirley was also heard saying in the video how they were trying to work out what was wrong with her.
She said: “So here we go again, in the hospital, with a shoulder and arm [problem] and I’m trying to find out what it is.”
Yesterday, Shirley also appeared on the newly launched GB News for an interview.
During her chat with presenter Dan Wooton, she teased who might appear on this year’s Strictly.
She said: “I would love to see someone who is perhaps in the NHS or perhaps not a celebrity thrown into the mix.”
The judge was then pushed if someone like Chris Whitty or Professor Van-Tam could feature.
Shirley replied: “Well watch this space darling.”
