Katy Perrys chilling nickname for Russell Brand exposed by Piers Morgan

Timeline of events around Russell Brand allegations

Piers Morgan has exposed Katy Perry’s alleged chilling nickname for her ex-husband Russell Brand.

Last night, The Sun columnist recalled that the comedian was “thrilled” by the moniker.

During an interview Morgan, gave Brand insight into conversations he’d had with his ex-wife.

Perry, now 38, dubbed her ex-husband Rasputin, whose name is Russian for “debauched one” and who was famous for being “Russia’s greatest love machine,” renowned for seducing women.

In the 1900s, Rasputin had significant influence in the Russian court, and was said to have helped heal the Russian royal family’s haemophiliac son.

Brand had previously said: “He was a pretty powerful bloke, he could manipulate folk with his eyes. I like Rasputin… he was all right, wasn’t he… a mad monk with magical, mystical powers, having it off with everyone, drinking and getting into fights.”

Rasputin, who allegedly had healing powers, was invited into the royal court in St. Petersburg in 1905. High society was interested in mysticism at the time.

About two years later he was summoned to the palace of Tsar Nicholas II and Czarina Alexandra when their son, who had haemophilia, couldn’t stop bleeding.

Rasputin allegedly helped the child’s suffering, but then claimed that the futures of both the child and the dynasty were linked to him.

He was also known to have preached that sex with him had healing affect.

The tsar refused to believe any of his accusers and they were transferred to remote regions of Russia.

He was later assassinated in 1916.

Last weekend, The Times, the Sunday Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches published allegations of sexual assault and rape against Brand, which he strongly denies.

He preemptively denied the accusations of “serious criminal allegations” in a YouTube video, and said his relationships have “always been consensual.”

Perry has posted on Instagram for the first time since Brand was accused, but didn’t address the allegations, instead chosing to show off her latest collection of cowboy boots.

Perry and Brand’s 14-month marriage broke down in 2012, with Brand previously calling the time “chaotic.”

Morgan said he’d tried to interview Perry in 2013 at a Vanity Fair party in Washington D.C., but the Fireworks singer said she wasn’t ready yet

She added: “Because you’ll get the truth out of me, and I’m just not ready to tell you the truth. In fact, I’m not sure I’m ready to admit the truth to myself.”

That’s when Morgan said she let slip her husband’s nickname: “You Brits are all the same, so damn confident… Trouble is, I find that irresistible. I love Brits… Well, not all of them – not Rasputin, obviously.”

Perry has never opened up about why her marriage to Brand ended.

She told Vogue earlier in the month: “I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day.”
