Kerry Katona has spoken out after being insulted by Kim Woodburn, 81, in a fiery television debate.
Breathlessly pedalling away in her home gym this morning, she dismissed the latter’s “common as muck” comments as “pantomime” in view of her 822,000 Instagram followers.
“Oh I love Kim, I’ve known her a long time – it’s all a bit pantomime. She gets a bit irate, but she’s a walk in the park our Kim is,” Kerry beamed.
“She’s lovely and her husband [Peter] is – nice couple, they are,” the 43-year-old continued.
Just seconds earlier, she’d urged fans: “It’s all about being kind to one another, no judgments!”

However, in Tuesday’s episode of GBN Tonight, Kim – the so-called “Queen of Clean”, who is renowned for her Channel 4 How Clean Is Your House? show – made some very disparaging comments about Kerry’s tattoos.
Kerry had been defending tattoo art during a studio debate, but Kim exclaimed: “Please can I have a say? Just be quiet!
“You’re a pretty woman. The tattoos on your arm look horrible. You’re a good-looking woman, [but] you look as common as muck.”
She then went on to slam extreme modifications, such as having horns attached to one’s head, and blasted: “Who the hell is going to employ them? They’re limiting their work, aren’t they?”

Kim added: “When you see these people tattooed from head to toe, there’s no flesh left, my love.”
Seconds earlier, Kerry had been explaining that her tattoos have emotional significance to her, and pointing out one of an angel on her arm which represents a much-loved aunt who died.
She’d also added that she’d had her children’s names tattooed onto her wrists “as a reminder never to self-harm”.
“Tattoos represent you as a person. [Saying you shouldn’t have tattoos is] almost like saying you can’t get hair highlights when you go into work, you can’t wear your make-up,” Kerry exclaimed.
“There’s so much more to a story than somebody just looking for attention. It is a good reminder of where somebody comes from, of who they want to be.”
She pointed out that politicians generally don’t show tattoos, but suggested that if they got inked, it would humanise them and make “common folk” trust them more.
Then Kim launched into her comments, which Kerry dismissed today, as she focused on “being the best I can be” and enjoying her morning exercise.
The star is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Day today by going to a clinic for a mammogram; although she hasn’t found any lumps, she says she is taking the step as a precautionary measure.
