Miriam Margolyes recalled Queen Camilla being “annoyed” about newspapers writing “horrible things” about King Charles, who was a prince at the time.
The Harry Potter actress, 82, visited Sandringham to have dinner with the royals where she detailed their meeting in a candid new interview with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett.
Miriam revealed she had gone swimming with Camilla, who she admittedly adores, as the actress detailed her exchange with the newly crowned royal.
Speaking on the Dish from Waitrose podcast, the British-Australian actress commented: “[Camilla] was a better swimmer than I was. But so friendly and down to earth and sensible.

“And I said to her, you know, ‘I hate it when the newspapers say horrible things about Prince Charles because he’s so sweet and so good and he worries about the country,’ and she said, ‘Oh you’re so right. I absolutely agree with you. I won’t, I won’t have those papers in the house.’
“And she, you know, she was quite annoyed about it,” Miriam added.
Miriam later gushed over the royals and branded the meeting as a fairytale.
Addressing King Charles, she remarked: “He’s critical of his chefs, he tells them – there’s lots of feedback. I loved it so much. After supper, I said, ‘Can I go to the kitchens and compliment them?’
