Pete went on to say that both of his parents had encouraged him to do so, but he was too busy with work commitments at the time.
The dad-of-four explained: “My mum and dad said about 20 years ago to us to go and do it – all my siblings did except me as I was recording in England at the time.”
Pete went on to add: “I thought I’d do it when I was back and then years went by.
“Now, it’s almost like karma. But we’ll go and see them as soon as we’re able to.”
Elsewhere in the chat and shoot, Pete opened up on his hectic work schedule and how he’s juggling it with family life.

He explained: “All the gigs that were booked last year were moved to this year, then when Grease got confirmed we had to work those dates around all the gigs, so it’s basically been seven days a week for two months.”
“I still kept busy over the pandemic, but I was at home so much filming things and writing music.”
He added that time out because of the pandemic had given him an even greater appreciation for performing.
Pete said: “The good thing was that I got to see the family daily. I love being on stage and it’s been great getting back out there. I appreciate it a lot more now.”
But as well as visiting his parents and extended family in Australia as soon as possible, Pete has plenty more to look forward to in the coming months.
The star teased: “Grease goes to the first week of December and then I start work on a film. Another film I was in with Junior – On The Other Foot – is coming out in November time.”
He concluded: “It’s really good, I’m adding another string to my bow moving into films as well, which is what I want to do. With acting, I want to earn my stripes and it’s still early days.”
