Shaunie O’Neal Ridiculed for Her ‘Ghetto’ Government Name

Despite the name, the ‘Basketball Wives’ creator/EP’s life is nowhere near ghetto as the ex-wife of former NBA center Shaquille O’Neal is a successful TV personality, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

AceShowbiz -Being the producer of “Basketball Wives“, Shaunie O’Neal is undoubtedly one of the most successful women in the world. However, the image was apparently ruined after one person revealed her government name, which many dubbed “ghetto.”

According to the picture that circulated online, Shaunie’s real name is Va’shaundra Karlette Nelson. Many people on Internet aggreed that the name was “extra ghetto” because of the apostrophe in the middle of it.

“Lmfao the gheeetto I’m not surprised,” one person wrote on Instagram. “That s**t ghetto as hell. Karlette???” another one chimed in, with someone else saying that “she acts JUST LIKE THAT NAME.”

Despite the name, Shaunie’s life is nowhere near ghetto. The ex-wife of former NBA center Shaquille O’Neal is a successful TV personality, entrepreneur and philanthropist. She’s also earning big money from being one of the executive producers of VH-1’s reality TV series including “Basketball Wives“, “Basketball Wives LA” and “Baller Wives“.

Her show “Basketball Wives”, on which she’s also starring, however, faces backlash after airing its latest season. People demanded that the show is canceled amid constant fighting between the cast members.

Additionally, star Evelyn Lozada landed on hot water after making racist comments about her co-stars. She isn’t the only one that people dubbed problematic as fellow cast member Ogom OG Chijindu was criticized for being too aggressive after threatening to kill multiple castmates. Shaunie herself was accused of being a colorist on the show. Viewers thought she played favorites with Evelyn and Malaysia Pargo, who are considered to have light skin color.

This arrives after she post a stunning photo of herself and her 5 kids early this month to celebrate the new year. “HAPPY NEW YEAR from my family to yours! I hope you all have an amazing 2020,” she wrote alongside of the snap, featuring them posing in black outfit. “In 2019, I learned even more than any other year that my God is an awesome God!”

“I also learned patience, you can never dream too big, move in silence, speak it into existence, it’s ok to outgrow things and people, & listening more than speaking. Lastly, I learned to make life decisions for my future, and not just the present,” she added.
