Katy Rickitt, who is the wife of former Coronation Street star Adam Rickitt, shared two selfies of herself wearing a dotted burgundy dress on her social media platform. The ITV presenter quipped that she’s not quite ready to leave the festive season behind.

Sorry but no…. I will not let Christmas go quietly

She wrote: “Sorry but no…. I will not let Christmas go quietly!! Welcome back to work all… #red #christmas @__theedit__”

Fans wasted no time praising the 37-year-old for her bold choice of clothing.

Twitter user @Paul1Belfast said: “AFTERNOON LOVELY KATY LOOKING LOVELY”

“Beautiful! Happy New Year!” @ClareClough3 continued.

Another user by the name @JulieCa009484590 then chimed in: “U Look lovely Katy.”

Katy enjoyed a lengthier break from her presenting duties on ITV News Calendar after telling fans last month that she had to pull out of her work commitments due to her poor health.

The short-haired natural brunette took to her official Instagram, stressing that she had fallen sick and therefore wouldn’t be taping the Christmas special, which she had been gushing about for weeks prior.

“Just wanted to say a great big merry Christmas to all of you lovely people!” she informed her 14,000 Instagram followers.

“To all the @itvcalendar viewers I’m so sorry to say I won’t be presenting the big Christmas show tomo evening as I’ve not been feeling too great for the last couple of days. (sic)

“Reluctantly I’m resting up,” Katy continued. “Genuinely gutted.

“Was so excited I even bought the boys ties to match my velvet dress!” (sic)

To make up for the fact that she would not be taping the ITV News Calendar Christmas special, she decided to post a series of “Christmassy pics” from 2020 instead.

Her own health wasn’t the only thing on Katy’s mind that week as she further revealed how she had recently wrapped filming at a hospital amid concerns that the rising Covid numbers in recent weeks could lead to an overwhelming surge in admissions.

She added: “I filmed behind the scenes at Chesterfield Royal last week to speak to the hard-working staff who are gearing up for another potentially tough few months…”

“I’ll post the article it’s really worth a watch and I am in awe of them all.

“To you lovely lot at Dexters I’ll be in soon as I can shift my bum so see you before 2022!!

“Thanks to everyone for all your support this crazy last year, I feel privileged to have friends like you.”

Katy tied the knot with Adam on December 20 2014, showing all the more signs that the Christmas season is rather special to her.

In June 2020, Adam told OK! Magazine how he and Katy can’t have children due to an autoimmune disorder that has left him infertile.

The TV actor suffers from Ankylosing Spondylitis, which causes a drastic decrease in infertility.
