Tommy had tried to get a flight back to the UK from Las Vegas, but they were all full so had to get an Uber and travel 300 miles to LAX airport in a bid to get home.
He told fans that he looked at the option of getting a hire car to the airport, but none were available.
Sharing an update on Instagram, Tommy wrote on his story: “Little update – had to get an Uber from Las Vegas to LAX because all the flights were full and all the car rentals were hired so silly me. Always plan in advance, guys.”
"Then flying from Los Angeles to London. Can't wait to see my girl @MollyMae miss you so much,” he continued.
The car journey is thought to have cost Tommy over $300.
Before jetting back to the UK, Tommy squeezed in some celebrations with his older brother and sister-in-law Paris in Vegas, with videos showing them partying with DJ Steve Aoki at super-club Hakkasan.
Paris, 33, has gushed over her husband on social media in the wake of his victory.
She wrote on Instagram: “What a fight! The last 48 hours have been epic and I'm still on cloud nine. It meant everything to be there with Tyson, he's worked so hard for this and he brought it home like the great champion he is! It won't be long till We’re back to reality and the school run but for now this is definitely one of the highs of being a boxer's wife.”
Paris also used the post as an opportunity to promote her upcoming book Love and Fury: The Magic and Mayhem of Life with Tyson, which will be released October 28.
The book details the mother-of-six’s “magical highs and epic lows of life” with Tyson, whom she married in 2009.
