Emmerdale actress Zoe Henry shared the heartbreaking news in a candid Twitter post. Jeff Hordley’s wife admitted she shared some of her “happiest times” working with Chris Honer, who died at the age of 73.

The Rhona Goskirk actress admitted she was deeply saddened by the news after the ITV star retweeted a recent post on Friday.

The message read: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Chris Honer, former Artistic Director of the Library Theatre Company. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”

The 48-year-old took to the micro-blogging site, as she reacted to the tragic news.

In view of her 104,000 followers, Zoe said: “This is such sad news. I loved working with Chris, some of my happiest times. Such a gentle, skilled director.

“And I have never known a calmer rehearsal room/tech week than his. Rest in peace Chris. Much love.”

The Emmerdale star was swiftly inundated with messages of condolence.

Ex-EastEnders actress Jo Joyner penned: “How sad. What a calm and gentle soul he was.”

Liam Shannon shared: “The loveliest of men, a fantastic director and someone to whom I will always be grateful. My heart is a bit heavy at that news.”

Zoe replied: “I hear you lovely Liam.”

“My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this very sad time,” Barbara White remarked.

Pat Dunn added: “Very sad news indeed. Rest in peace Chris.”

Chris was best known for his stewardship at the Library Theatre Company (LTC) where he worked as an Artistic Director for the past two decades.

He had developed a rich assistance program on communities with poor access to the arts and partnerships with new artists and companies in the region through the RePlay Festival.

Meanwhile, Zoe has revealed that she and her other half will embark on a new venture.

The Emmerdale couple – who are married in real life – regularly update fans on their beloved allotment.

As their followers know, the couple have huge success with their home-grown fruit and veggies during the spring and summer.

And it appears the sustainable pair want to do the same in the colder months.

Zoe said: “We have decided, for the first time ever, to grow through the winter months.

“Today’s jobs – netting the purple sprouting broccoli, kale and cabbages, starting off next year’s broad beans and harvesting this year’s sunflower seeds.”
