A leak of Ye and Dr. Dre‘s collaborative effort, Jesus Is King II, has surfaced online nearly four years after the original album was released.
Serving as the sequel to the rapper’s namesake Christian gospel LP, the album was announced in November 2019, just a month after the original’s release. Jesus is King II never quite came to light, though, and in time, Ye focused his energy on working on Donda.
A lone song entitled “Glory” was briefly previewed in a commercial for Beats’ Studio Buds two years after the announcement but that track was never formally released either. Flash forward to earlier this week when a copy of the album was shared to Reddit.
The leaked version contains a star-studded roster of guest artists, including Travis Scott, Pusha T, Eminem and Snoop Dogg. Also featured on the project are 2 Chainz, Anderson .Paak, A$AP Ferg and British R&B singer Marsha Ambrosius.
Snoop Dogg and Dre join forces on a song called “This is the Glory,” while Dre returns alongside 2 Chainz on “Our King.” Pusha T clocks a guest feature on another track, “Blood of the Lamb.”
Several years out from the original album, it seems the sequel has been abandoned by Ye but the rapper is rumored to be currently working on yet another project entirely.
In other music news, Bad Bunny dropped “Un Preview,” his last song of 2023.
