The "Where the Crawdads Sing" Trailer Features a Taylor Swift Song Called "Carolina"

Midway through the haunting trailer for “Where the Crawdads Sing”, none other than Taylor Swift is heard singing, “You didn’t see me here / But they never did see me here / There are places I would never, never go / Things that only Carolina will ever know.”

“Where the Crawdads Sing” is adapted from the 2018 novel of the same name. The upcoming thriller follows a young North Carolina woman named Kya (Daisy Edgar-Jones), who’s suspected of murdering a man — and apparently Taylor Swift is a huge fan of the book. “‘Where The Crawdads Sing’ is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago,” the 11-time Grammy-winning artist captioned her Instagram post sharing the trailer for the film, which hits theaters in July. “As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side.”

She continued, “I wrote the song ‘Carolina’ alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story. You’ll hear it fully soon, but for now check out the @crawdadsmovie trailer for a clip!”

“Where the Crawfords Sing” comes to us from Reese Witherspoon and her production company, Hello Sunshine. Witherspoon’s previous book-to-screen adaptations include “Big Little Lies,” “Wild,” and “Little Fires Everywhere.” Check out the trailer for “Where the Crawfords Sing” above!
