Aldi has revealed its wish list fo where it wants to open 16 new stores up and down the country. The budget supermarket also shared it will be hiring people for 6,000 more jobs.
Aldi is looking for specific locations for its new stores, and the areas must follow a set of requirements.
The supermarket wants freeold town-centre of edge-of-centre sites that are suitable for property development.
Each site will be big enough for a 20,000 square foot store with around 100 parking spaces, ideally near a main road with good visibility and access.
Aldi is targeting sites in England, Scotland, and Wales.

The sites to make the Aldi wish list so far are:
South East – Caversham, Farnham, Maidenhead and Worthing
South West – Bath, Teignmouth and Penzance
West Midlands – Birmingham, Coventry and Warwick
East Midlands – Chesterfield, Leicester and Derby
East of England – Cheshunt, Brentwood and Rayleigh

Aldi UK and Ireland chief executive Giles Hurley said : “The cost-of-living crisis is worsening, and it’s being felt by millions of households across the UK.
“It’s in times like these when our customers rely on us the most, which is why we’re focusing on continuing to deliver our longstanding price promise by offering the lowest possible prices in Britain, every single day.”
While building its new stores, Aldi might take environmental issues into account. Its brand new store in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, which opened earlier this week, was built with sustainable materials.
These included timber fibre insulation, cement replacement concrete, and recycled lighting columns.
The building also has solar panels and uses chiller doors to reduce energy consumption.
In other Aldi news, the retailer has been named the cheapest supermarket in the UK by consmer group Which?.
After analysing 48 items from the UK’s most popular supermarkets, Which? found that Aldi’s basket added up to £75.61, which was £23.79 cheaper than the UK’s most expensive supermarket, Waitrose.
Lidl came in second place, followed by Asda and Tesco.
