Jamie Spears got $40K loan days before putting Britney under conservatorship
Britney Spears is slowly getting back into music after being released from her conservatorship.
The pop star showed off her vocals and teased a new song in an Instagram post Wednesday where she — once again — took her family to task.
“Just realized this today guys … after what my family tried to do to me three years ago … I needed to be my own cheerleader 🤷🏼♀️ !!!! God knows they weren’t …so I just read up on my self and this is what I found,” she captioned a clip of herself singing in her bathroom while wearing low-rise jeans and a purple crop top.
Spears, 40, made it clear to fans that she’s “not auditioning for anything,” but wanted to “remind my white ‘classy’ family that I haven’t forgotten what they did to me nor will I ever forget !!!!”
The crooner also revealed that she has a “new song in the works,” but did not provide any further details.
Spears last released music in 2016 when she dropped the “Glory” album.
A source told Page Six last month that Spears is “excited” to start making music again, but diving back into the industry following a nearly three-year “work hiatus” is not her “top priority.”
Spears also went on to detail a few of her many career accolades in Wednesday’s social media post, including being “one of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in pop history with nearly 100 million records sold worldwide.”
The “Toxic” singer was freed from a conservatorship, which she was placed under in 2008, in September. Earlier this month, her estranged father, Jamie Spears — who once controlled most aspects of her life under the restrictive legal ruling — filed court documents to have the musician’s estate continue paying his legal fees.
Britney has openly spoken out about her family’s involvement in the conservatorship, even claiming they deserve to be in jail for the role they played. She also vowed through her lawyer in November 2020 that she would “not perform” as long as Jamie was in charge of her career.
In addition to considering getting back into the music biz, the “Gimme More” crooner also has plans to expand her family with fiancé Sam Asghari now that she is a free woman.
