It’s semi-finals day at SW19 as the stakes are ever higher at Wimbledon 2023 – but which very important people were able to take the best seats in the house to watch the action?
Today’s Royal Box on Centre Court was once again awash with famous faces – from former government ministers to film stars.
Broadcast journalists and meteorologists were also among the recognisable faces in the Box as Elina Svitolina lost out to Marketa Vondrousova.
The guests are also being treated to another women’s semi final between Ons Jabeur and Aryna Sabalenka, before doubles matches later this evening.
Here, FEMAIL takes a look at another set of famous faces in the Royal Box.

1. Frank Gardner
Frank Gardner is a defence correspondent for the BBC, an author and a retired British Army Reserve officer.
Since the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City in 2001, he has specialised in covering stories surrounding the war on terror.
In 2006, while reporting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Gardner was shot six times and seriously injured by Al-Qaida attackers. His cameraman Simon Cumbers was shot dead.
The attack damaged his spinal nerves, leaving him partially paralysed. He now uses a wheelchair, but is a keen skier and is a Patron of Disability Snowsport UK.
2. Elizabeth Rizzini
Elizabeth Rizzini is a BBC weather presenter who was trained by the Met Office.
She has appeared on regional as well as national news broadcasts, and BBC radio stations.
According to her website, Elizabeth’s favourite fortnight of the year is the Wimbledon tournament and she often forecasts from the All England Club in SW19.
3&4. Pooja Patel and Dina Asher-Smith
Dina Asher-Smith, who is currently the fastest British woman on record, looked elegant as she sat in the Royal Box with her friend Pooja Patel
Dina Asher-Smith is a British athlete from Orpington, Bromley, and is currently the fastest British woman ever.
The 27-year-old won a gold medal and two silver medals at the 2019 World Championships.
Aside from her impressive athletics career, Dina has also modelled for Louis Vuitton and Valentino. In 2019, she had a Barbie created in her image. Today she was accompanied in the royal box by her friend Pooja Patel.
5&6. Alok Sharma and his wife Ingela
Sir Alok Sharma is a former business secretary for the Conservative Party, who was awarded a knighthood just this week.
Between 2021 and 2022, he also served as the president of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).
He and his wife Ingela live in Caversham, Reading, with their two daughters.
On Tuesday, he travelled to Windsor Castle with his family where he was knighted by King Charles.
Posting a photo of himself and his family on Twitter, he wrote: ‘A huge honour to be knighted by His Majesty the King at Windsor Castle – wonderful to have my fab three with me!’
7&8. Indira and Andrew Feustel
Andrew ‘Drew’ Feustal is a NASA astronaut who has travelled to space three times.
His first mission was in 2009 when he was sent to the Hubble Telescope to make repairs, and he returned for another mission in 2011.
In 2018, Drew undertook another mission in space, this time for six months.
He was accompanied today by Indira Devi Feustel, his wife whom he met at Purdue University in Indiana.
Indira now works as a speech-language pathologist. She shares two sons with Andrew.
9. Martha Kearney
Martha Kearney is a British-Irish journalist who currently presents the BBC Radio 4 show The World at One – a position she has held for 11 years.
She has also presented the Today programme on the same station.
Throughout her career she has reported on stories including The Troubles and the Northern Ireland peace process, which saw her nominated for a BAFTA.
In addition to her impressive career, she has also proven herself to be a keen baker – and managed to win an episode of the Great Comic Relief Bake Off, beating Claudia Winkleman, Ed Byrne and Helen Glover.
10 & 11. Rebecca Gleeson and Eric Bana
Australians Rebecca Gleeson and Eric Bana were present in the Royal Box today
Rebecca Gleeson is a publicist from Australia who has been married to Eric Bana for 24 years. The couple share two sons.
Eric Bana is an actor and comedian who has starred in countless Hollywood productions.
In 2019, he was made a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2019 Birthday Honours for his services to drama.
12 & 13. James and Ben Whishaw
Ben Whishaw and his brother James looked very animated as they watched the action on Centre Court
Ben Whishaw is a British actor who voices the beloved Paddington Bear in the Paddington films.
He also plays Q in the James Bond franchise, and starred in BBC hit series A Very British Scandal alongside Hugh Grant.
Today he was accompanied in the Royal Box by his brother James, who has often been by his side during red carpet appearances.
14 & 15. Vadym Prystaiko and Inna Prystaiko
Vadym Prystaiko is a Ukrainian diplomat. He currently serves as Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in March 2022, Prystaiko has made appearances on UK news channels calling for support for his nation.
His wife Inna, who accompanied him in the Royal Box today, made headlines shortly after the invasion, when she delivered an impassioned speech on behalf of the women of Ukraine on International Women’s Day at Clarence House, where she met Queen Camilla.
