SHOULD I KEEP MY SPF IN THE FRIDGE?
No, there’s no need to keep sunscreen in the fridge, according to Dr Marko Lens, a leading expert in sun protection and skin cancer.
‘Sunscreens should be kept at normal room temperature,’ he says. ‘A very high temperature, or very cold temperature, could affect the stability and efficacy of the formula. Sunscreens should have a PAO — period after opening,’ he adds. ‘This will usually say the product is stable for 36 months after production, if it is not opened.’
It’s important to pay attention to these dates, as your sunscreen might not work if it’s out of date. If you need to replace yours, try Zelens Daily Defence Sunscreen with SPF 30.
