GO out with a glow . . . when summer finally starts again.
Many of us will be enjoying our increased freedoms this year, with trips to the pub garden — and I know many of us will be hankering after the perfect sun- kissed complexion to do so.
But it is dangerous trying to bake yourself to a crisp.
Thankfully, there are some seriously savvy sunless tanners for every taste — and no one needs to know the difference . . .
H2 GLOW: Not a fan of heavy formulas? Self-tanning waters are impressing bronzer fans everywhere — and they’re easy to apply and blend. Isle Of Paradise self-tanning water, £18.95 at BeautyBay, is the brand on every beauty blogger’s tongue, but Superdrug’s Solait offers a cheap alternative for just £4.99. It’s super-moisturising and develops in one to four hours.
CLOCK THIS: In a hurry? A one-hour tanner can get you glowing quick. Tanning experts St Tropez sell a popular self-tan express mousse for £33. But instead of letting bronzing break the bank, I love one-hour tan dark mousse by Cocoa Brown — a snip of the cost at £7.99 from Boots.
TOP UP: If you prefer to let your tan build up in a more “natural” fashion and you don’t fancy anything too drastic, grab a gradual tanner. I think the Bondi Sands gradual tanning milk is great and is also a lovely moisturiser for the summer — plus it’s only £8 instead of £12 when using a Clubcard at Tesco.
WASH NOT TO LIKE? If you need to be bronzed in a jiffy but don’t want to commit to a full-on fake tan, grab an instant wash-off option. I love old faithful Rimmel sunshimmer water-resistant wash-off instant tan, £4.68 at lookfantastic.com, down from £6.99. Plus it’s a snip compared to the Skinny Tan instant tanner, £14.99 at skinnytan.co.uk.
