Holly Hagan’s ‘baby dance schedule’ explained as she uses method to get pregnant

Holly Hagan-Blyth has shared the exciting news that she's expecting her first child with her husband Jacob Blyth after tying the knot in 2021.

The ex-Geordie Shore star, 30, and footballer Jacob, also 30, exclusively revealed their happy news in an interview with OK!, with Holly sharing that's 18 weeks pregnant with the couple's first baby.

The mum-to-be is due to give birth on the exact date of her and Jacob's wedding anniversary, which is also the date Jacob popped the question to his wife three years ago.

The couple started trying for a baby after tying the knot, and eventually turned to the Baby Dance Schedule method after trying to conceive for around three months with no luck.

The method involves specifically planning when to have sex during your cycle to give you the maximum possibility of falling pregnant, and Holly and Jacob revealed they stuck to a strict plan to increase their chances of conceiving.

Sharing details about what she and Jacob did, Holly told OK!: “The month I fell pregnant was the month we really tried. We used a method called the ‘sperm meets egg’.

"They call it the Baby Dance Schedule! From the eighth day of your cycle you’re supposed to have sex every other day. Then once you have a positive ovulation test you have sex every day for three days, then you skip a day and have sex again. It’s not the most romantic but it worked.

She joked: "We didn’t leave much room for error. It wasn’t some fairy tale!”

Dad-to-be Jacob even admitted to writing down the times when they were going to try in his schedule, adding: “When you’re five years in it’s not like the honeymoon stage anymore. I wrote it down in my daily schedule. I was like, ‘Football training. Baby making.’”

In September, Holly found out the method had been successful while Jacob was away for a pal's birthday. She waited until he arrived back at their home just outside of Manchester to break the happy news to her husband.

Sharing the exciting moment she found out she was expecting, Holly told us: “I found out seven days before my missed period – it was scarily early. “My friends were around and we were supposed to be drinking so I thought I’d better take a test just in case.

"I saw a very faint line, so I just had one glass of Champagne and faked it for the rest of the night. I took another test the next morning and it came up as ‘pregnant’."

The former Geordie Shore favourite picked a sweet way to break the news to Jacob after waiting for him to arrive home.

She added: “As Jacob was away, I decided to order a baby Liverpool FC kit with ‘Baby B 23’ on the back to tell him. I wanted it to be so special as you only have your first baby once. It took three days to arrive. They were the longest three days of my entire existence!”
