Jeff Bezos, Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Leonardo DiCaprio were spotted ducking into a derelict doughnut shop Saturday night in Chelsea, but spies tell Page Six they weren’t picking up any late-night Munchkins.
The façade is actually a secret entrance to the soon-to-be relaunched Chelsea Hotel, and the VIPs were headed to Derek Blasberg’s starry 40th birthday celebration inside the storied downtown haunt.
Also seen heading into the party were Anne Hathaway, Naomi Campbell, Chloë Sevigny, Amy Schumer, Karlie Kloss, Huma Abedin, Justin Theroux and more.
Inside the party, guests packed the Chelsea’s restaurant, lobby and patio, we hear.
The place has been under a years-long renovation by Bowery Hotel guru Sean MacPherson, who told WSJ. Magazine, “We’ve done everything we can to restore it to the original … kind of like excavation.”
Photos from the party showed Blasberg, YouTube’s fashion and beauty head, hanging in a corner booth with his parents as well as Amazon founder Bezos and his partner, Lauren Sánchez.
The birthday boy blew out candles on not one but two Ricky Martin cakes.
Also circulating, we hear, were top gallerist Larry Gagosian, CAA co-founder Michael Ovitz and fashion designers Riccardo Tisci, Zac Posen, Lazaro Hernandez, Jack McCollough and Gabriela Hearst.
The party served as a warm-up to Monday’s Met Gala for many of the A-list guests.
On Thursday, Blasberg also celebrated with pals when Samantha Boardman hosted a “packing day” at Citymeals on Wheels’ warehouse in the Bronx. Jessica Seinfeld, Dasha Zhukova, Tabitha Simmons and Vogue’s Mark Guiducci worked assembly lines that boxed up nonperishable food items to be delivered to housebound New Yorkers. Blasberg even offered a trophy to whichever pals packed the most lunches — and the prize ultimately went to Barbara Bush, Leigh Lezark and Joe Holder, according to Instagram posts.
The Post previously reported that the Chelsea Hotel — the “fabled former haunt of Andy Warhol, Jack Kerouac and scores of New York artists, filmmakers, musicians and all stripes of zany characters” — is retuning after an 11-year hiatus.
The venue will fully reopen this year with 155 restored guest rooms. It has so far been offering some rooms at “hard hat rates” while quietly reopening the venue’s famed Spanish restaurant El Quijote.
