During the Retrograde period, the planet Mercury appears to be moving backward from Earth.

This year’s remaining Mercury Retrograde season are July 7 to August 2, and October 31 to November 20.

But Mercury is in fact actually simply hurtling past our planet during its swift 88-day orbit around the Sun.

This who believe in astrology may feel more inclined to take things out of context and misunderstanding communication.

While others may have trouble conveying thoughts and intentions during Retrograde season.

Most forms of communication – from negotiation, business to relationships – may appear to face during mental obstacles during Mercury Retrograde.

While every Mercury Retrograde can bring its own complications to navigate, this month’s celestial event can be particularly potent.

This is mainly because Mercury Retrograde will start ahead of the astrological chart in Leo before eventually returning back to Cancer for the rest of the season.

Astrologer Lisa Stardust explained to Newsweek we can consequently expect to encounter uncomfortable truths during July’s Mercury Retrograde.

She said: “People will be re-evaluating facts they have heard and will really have to decipher if they’re sure of the truthfulness or not.

“People will really begin to see the truth and question their actions from the past as well as the actions and motives of others.

“It may cause a real contentions time in people’s lives by bringing a lot of self-reflection on our actions and the actions of others. It’s just a summer of reflection.”

A minority may already have experiencing difficulties in the weeks preceding the Retrograde period.

Potentially compounding the problem, last week’s total solar eclipse could have added an extra sense of confusion to the air.

Some of the issues experienced during early Mercury Retrograde are thought by astrologers to relate to Fire sign Leo’s influence this week.

Ms Stardust explained: ”Leos say things without speaking and they’re very nonchalant about the truthfulness of their pride.

“That is how they go about life, and when it’s retrograde, people have a tendency to say things that are very cocky, things they don’t need to say or things that come off arrogant.”

As Mercury retrograde transitions back into Cancer, people can expect to reflect on their communication struggles from earlier part of the retrograde, according to Stardust.

A history of Mercury Retrograde:

Mercury Retrograde was being written about in astrology circles dating back to the mid-18th century.

Mercury Retrograde was noted in British agricultural almanacs of the time, which farmers would read to sync their planting schedules to the patterns of the stars.

During the spiritualism craze of the Victorian era, interest in astrology boomed, with many believing stars could influence us in a multitude of ways.

Late 19th-century publications like The Astrologer’s Magazine and The Science of the Stars linked Mercury Retrograde with heavy rainfall.

Characterisations of the happening as an “ill omen” also appeared in a handful of articles during that period, but its association with outright disaster was not as prevalent as it is now.
