A devastated school has paid tribute to a "remarkable" student after she lost a gruelling two year battle with cancer.
Silvija Milciute was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the age of just nine.
Despite suffering daily with the disease, the Hull pupil kept a high attendance at The Greenway Academy up until her death.
After Silvija died on Monday, July 8, tributes flooded in for the "beautiful", "incredible" and "remarkable" student, Hull Daily Mail reported.
A spokeswoman for her school said: "She was a beautiful little girl and had been poorly for two years.
"She battled and had been amazing and had fantastic attendance and was only absent from school when she was poorly from the treatment but she even came in in a wheelchair when she couldn't walk. She was attending school right up until she died on 8th July.
"She had some professional pictures done before she got poorly and one set she was in a prom dress, they were really beautiful.
"She was an absolute superstar. Our motto is to 'find your remarkable' and she really was remarkable.
"We were all really close to her and her family. They are such a lovely, hardworking family. We were so lucky to have had her and what a beautiful girl she was."
According to the spokeswoman Silvija's family were shocked to discover a Gofundme page had been set up to support them.
