A plus size woman has been praised for promoting body positivity while showcasing her killer curves in a stunning thong bikini.

Karina Martinez, who works in social media, jetted to Ibiza last year for a "hot girl summer" holiday and vlogged the amazing time she spent in the Balearic island with her friends.

In one now-viral video she shared on TikTok, the 32-year-old dons a red bikini top and a matching thong as she strolls along the sandy beach in the Mediterranean bolthole.

"How I, a UK size 24, wore a thong bikini in Ibiza. Day one I went to Nikki beach and put on my new thong bikini, we had a fabulous spot on the beach, we did a tonne of walking around, we had so much rosé.

"Really enjoyed walking around and seeing everybody, as you can see, there were no fainting souls after viewing my cellulite on my a**.

"No one died seeing my back fat and most of all, no one really said anything.

"There are more than a few stares but that's pretty much the case that I'm fat.

"I'm just as fat in an oversized T-shirt as I am in a bikini. So here's a reminder to wear what makes you happy."

Speaking to Daily Star, Karina said that "family friendly" has many meanings, but "bodies should never be treated as taboo".

"Treat and speak to yourself kindly is a big first step," she explained.

"Try things out of your comfort zone, even if it’s wearing a sleeveless top to the grocery store one day, those little steps will lead to bigger ones."

She revealed that she had been on a diet to binge-eating rollercoaster for 20 years and it wasn't until a few years ago that she felt finally happy with her body.

"There's an eating disorder to deal with in the process but life has gotten better – I enjoy food, I actually enjoy exercises and I can live my life to the fullest," she added in a video.

"I can go out and eat what I want and enjoy myself, wear what I want, do what I want because of all that.

Karina received plenty of positive responses from her viewers after giving an insight into her holiday, with many saying she gave them a confidence boost to "wear what they want".

"Your last sentence!! This is the thought process and confidence I need!" one commented and a second said: "They were staring because you are an absolute queen! Looking gorgeous."

And a third wrote: "I would look at you and be inspired to be me. Thank you for this, you make the difference."

It comes after a woman split opinion over her "inappropriate" G-string bikini at a water park around kids.
