MONEY is tight due soaring energy and grocery bills.
A whopping 88% of adults in Great Britain have reported a rise in their cost of living, according to the Office for National Statistics.
Wages are not rising as fast as inflation – which hit 10% in July.
That means that you have less cash to spare when it comes to paying for rising bills and costs.
But there are ways you can use your job to help save cash, we explain.
Don't miss out on discounts
Some employers offer vouchers or discounts on shops or products like car insurance.
You could also get a cheap gym membership. Others may have arrangements with local business to give staff discounts.
If you have an employee discount card, use it wisely.
Remember, it’s only a discount if you really need it – but it could help you save cash on essentials.
Bag work perks
It’s worth asking your employer about perks which could help you save cash.
Tax-free benefits can include a train or tube season ticket, healthcare or dental cover.
You should also get freebies which help you do your job, such as a mobile phone, laptop or stationary.
Remember, you will need to return these when you leave and they should be used for work purposes.
A lot of newer companies even offer wellness perks in the form of lunchtime yoga classes, desk massages and access to a therapist through the HR department.
As the cost of these classes or treatments can really add up, make the most of them.
