Alan Carr baffled after Adele suggested he stayed at hotel instead of her place

Presenter Alan Carr was left feeling rather indifferent after his pal Adele reportedly suggested he stayed in a hotel rather than her luxury LA mansion.

Adele, 33, recommended that Alan, 44, stayed at the four-star £200-a-night Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood instead of her luxurious pad.

The Petit Ermitage is a quirky hotel that boasts eccentric artwork and a topless swimming pool, despite this Alan felt the hotel looked "weird".

Singer Adele currently lives in a £7.7million five-bedroom Beverly Hills property. The star also owns a second pad near her ex-husband Simon Konecki, 47.

Talking about the awkward situation on his podcast, Alan explained: "I was hoping to stay at Adele’s house, but she went 'Why don’t you stay at this hotel?'

"And I looked at the website and it looked weird.

"There was a massive Jack of clubs, there was a chess piece. It was like, ‘this feels a bit odd’. But I know it’s amazing."

Olivia Cooke who joined the comedian on the show added: "Your like, ‘Come on babe, you’ve got enough rooms’."

After meeting at the BRIT awards in 2008, Grammy award winner Adele and Alan became very close friends.

In January 2018, Adele got ordained so she could officiate at Alan’s wedding ceremony to his partner Paul Drayton, 47, that took place in her LA garden.

But the good gestures didn’t stop there, as Adele serenaded the newlywed couple during their first dance. She also flew all three of them to Las Vegas to watch Celine Dion perform.

Talking to Heat magazine at the time, the comedian admitted that Adele paid for the whole thing and described her as "the sweetest person".

He said: "She offered. She brought her clipboard out and said, 'I feel like Jennifer Lopez in 'The Wedding Planner'."

Last week Adele celebrated her 33rd birthday and to mark the special occasion, she took to Instagram to post a series of glamorous photos of herself.

Captioning the post, the singer wrote: "Thirty Free."

Fans loved the post, but some also urged her to get back in the studio. One fan penned: "Happy birthday you absolute goddess! New music soon please and thank you."

"Where is the album sis?" Another fan queried.
