Derry Girls fans were left shocked as they finally clocked who the star is dating – and it's another celeb.

Actress Saoirse-Monica Jackson, who is from Derry, is best known for her role at Erin in the smash hit Channel 4 comedy.

The 28-year-old, along with the rest of the cast, left fans heartbroken when it was announced the most recent series of the show will be its last.

Even with a surprise appearance from Liam Neeson, it seems fans still aren't ready to let the beloved show go.

Saoirse-Monica has largely kept her personal life private but she did go public with her relationship back in September, going "Instagram official" with her boyfriend DJ Denis Sulta, last September.

Denis – whose real name is Hector Barbour – is making waves in the music industry, already being dubbed a "prodigal producer" by critics.

His most recent career move has been to join BBC Radio 1's Residency show, appearing along with Jayda G, HAAi, and Charlotte de Witte.

However, as Belfast Live reports, most fans hadn't twigged the connection.

A viral tweet caught the attention of many a fan, reading: "There are some random celebrity couples out there but Denis Sulta and Erin from Derry Girls takes the cake."

One stunned fan penned: “My head is gone. Why did I not know this,” with another adding: “Wait what??”

Another, equally baffled viewer commented: “How did I not know this?? Wtf."

The couple first announced their relationship back in September but hilariously, Saoirse was left apologising.

A sweet picture accompanied the post but it appeared to show Denis on one knee.

For clarification as comments started to pour in, Saoirse quickly added: "DISCLAIMER – NOOOOO…. This is not an engagement photo people. He just had a long day on his feet."
