EastEnders stars fall out as fans concerned after noticing social media snub

EastEnders fans have notcied a major fallout between two of the soap’s biggest names after the seemingly close pair stopped following each other on social media.

Former show star Danielle Harold, who played Lola Pearce on the soap until she was killed off earlier this year, and co-star Max Bowden, who played Ben Mitchell, have shocked fans by unfollowing each other on the platform, with all tags having been removed from their pictures together.

The two shared some epic scenes before Danielle’s departure, with Max playing the father of her daughter, Lexi, and fighting to save her from cancer. The pair have appeared in countless snaps together over the last several months and they celebrated numerous big award wins, hugging and enjoying their hard-earned accolades.

The sudden update has left fans concerned a major fallout has happened behind-the-scenes. “Umm why Max Bowden and Danielle Harold unfollowed each other on Instagram? “I accidentally saw it today and I was like whaaaat!? I wonder what happened I love those 2..” penned one fan.

“Interesting. Maybe something small because they seem really close?” asked another. “It’s quite a statement tho so obviously they’ve fallen out.”

Others thought she might be struggling to follow her pal after rumours that she never wanted to leave the soap in the first place. “Rumours that Danelle didn't want to leave EE. So maybe she's starting to unfriend the cast one-by-one, so it doesn't look so obvious as she doesn't want to see updates from her former colleagues. Maybe?” penned a fan.

But others hoped that whatever the reason they will “work it out”. "Maybe Danielle & Max have had the spat this time. God knows what over & none of our bizz but these are all highly strung, very emotional actors – I’m sure they’ll be pals again by next week as well!”

Max shared an emotional tribute to Danielle after her heartbreaking exit from the soap in June. Sharing a series of snaps of them together, the Ben Mitchell actor wrote: "Our girl. What you have achieved in the last twelve months is extraordinary.

"My whole EastEnders “journey” started with you, and what a ride it’s been. Watching you work so closely everyday has been inspiring, but hasn’t quite topped being your friend. You’ve been there for all of us when we’ve needed a friend, and for that I can only thank you."
