Now, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the mum-of-three has lifted the lid on why she has refused to volunteer for the food-based trials.

After she posed up a storm on the red carpet at the Pride of Manchester Awards on Wednesday (May 10), the TV star revealed her health concerns during her time in the ITV camp.

She explained: “I know it sounds a bit strange but I was really, really ill, like really poorly in all my pregnancies I had hyperemesis [gravidarum] which is quite rare.

“So basically you get really sick and gag a lot, I think its always stayed with me but the smell of food has always been awful and it really puts me off like even now.”

Helen went on: “I was always dreading those trials because I thought like that it would send be back to that time in my pregnancies and bring up the whole thing.

“So I was really dreading that they were gonna do that with me and they didn’t so that was a relief,” she confessed.

It comes after the actress revealed which of her fellow campmates she was closest to in the ITV camp.

She gushed: "I really bonded with Carol and Fatima, I really got on with them, I mean I'm very much a people person.

"I think it's since I've been on Coronation Street at a young age that I get on well with everyone because I'm used to so many people. But I really did bond with Carol I would say."
