Just My Luck cast now – secret wedding, drink-driving arrest and jail

It's been 16 years to the day since rom-com Just My Luck starring Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine hit the big screen in 2006 on May 12.

The film tells the story of Ashley Albright, the luckiest person in Manhattan, who kisses a stranger at a party and loses all her good fortune as a result.

Just My Luck did not exactly receive a warm reception with Rotten Tomatoes reviewers giving it a 14% rating based on 110 votes.

For her performance, for which she was reportedly paid more £6.4million, Lindsay was nominated for a Golden Raspberry award for Worst Actress in 2007.

During filming, the actress experienced her own bout of bad luck when she sprained her ankle which left her struggling to walk or wear heels.

So, after so many years, what have the cast of Just My Luck been up to and has fortune been smiling on them?

Take a look below to find out what Lindsay Lohan, Chris Pine and co did after the film premiered in 2006.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay had already been hugely popular before the release of Just My Luck, starring in hit films such as The Parent Trap in 1998 and teen comedy Mean Girls.

After Just My Luck's negative reception, Lindsay decided to focus on smaller roles in more mature films.

While in her 20s, Lindsay continuously made headlines for partying, substance abuse and her dating life.

Various arrests, court appearances for driving under the influence and possession of cocaine as well as spending time in jail cost her acting jobs and her reputation.

She was also accused of being difficult to work with on set, often arriving late and hungover.

In 2011, she was sentenced to four months in jail for the theft of a £1,529 gold necklace from a shop in California.

The star pleaded no contest to a lesser charge.

The following year, Lindsay was arrested after allegedly punching someone at a Chelsea nightclub.

In an attempt to turn her life around, she spent several months in rehab.

She then opened her first nightclub in Greece and started releasing new music and was signed as one of the panelists on the Australian edition of Masked Singer.

Keen to get her acting career back on track, the 35-year-old revealed there are several projects she is currently working on such as romantic comedy Falling for Christmas which will be released on Netflix later this year.

She currently lives in Dubai with her fiancé Bader Shammas.

Chris Pine

Hollywood heartthrob Chris Pine was already known for his role as Nicholas Devereaux in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement in which he starred alongside Anne Hathaway.

Appearances in comedy Blind Dating and action film Smokin' Aces followed before he gained worldwide recognition for playing James T Kirk in the 2009 Star Trek film.

His acting career took off after that and he starred in various other films such as This Means War alongside Reese Witherspoon and Tom Hardy and People Like Us with Olivia Wilde and Elizabeth Banks.

In 2014, Chris pleaded guilty to drink-driving in New Zealand where he had been filming Z for Zachariah.

The Star trek actor said he had been drinking vodka at a local pub.

He was banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay around £50 in reparation.

Chris studied at the University of Leeds for a year as an exchange student as part of his English degree.

The 41-year-old is currently single after splitting from longtime girlfriend actress and model Annabelle Wallis.

Makenzie Vega

Makenzie, who played little Katy in Just My Luck, appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand during that same year.

The film was a huge success, grossing more than £371m at the box office.

After, she landed a support role in supernatural series Ghost Whisperer and played Paige Hardwicke in the romantic film In the Land of Women.

Makenzie took a break from films the following year to focus on TV shows such as The Good Wife in which she played Grace Florrick.

The 28-year-old married model Blair Norfolk in 2017 in a secret wedding.

Pop band McFly started out in 2003 and quickly accumulated a loyal fanbase.

Named after Marty McFly from the Back to the Future series, the band consists of Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd.

Shortly after appearing in Just My Luck, the band released their single Please, Please which is actually about Lindsay Lohan.

Various other successful albums followed such as Motion in the Ocean and Above the Noise.

In 2013 the band announced they would join forces with Busted to create supergroup McBusted.

Two years later, McFly made a return and went back on tour in 2016.

A one-year break followed during which the boys focused on solo projects before reforming in 2019 with a new album and tour.

They released a new album and announced their first ever solo show at the O2 Arena.

Following the success of the concert, McFly announced a come-back arena tour in 2020 which actually took place in September the following year due to the pandemic.

Their sixth studio album Young Dumb Thrills was released in 2020.
