Keira Knightley has reflected on a disastrous wardrobe malfunction that happened right in front of the paparazzi on her way to attend the British Independent Film Awards back in 2005.
The 36-year-old Hollywood star explained that her dress split in half with her "naked body" squeezing out in a disastrous wardrobe nightmare just before leaving her house to attend an awards bash.
She told People magazine: "I was wearing a Hervé Léger dress, one of those bandage-y dresses. I went to step out of the door and it split from the bottom to the top — my entire body was out.
"It was just full-on naked body. So it was a real moment of going, 'I think that dress was a bit too small."
"Thank God it [didn't] happen on the red carpet because it could have happened at any point that evening and I was incredibly fortunate that it happened when it did."
'It was at a point where I was being followed around by many paparazzi. Luckily, I was in my flat, I was not out the front door, so nobody got a picture of the fact that this dress had split."
The star was able to attend the event fully clothed and mercifully without mishap.
She also picked up an honorary gong that night with the Variety Award, which has also been bestowed on the likes of Felicity Jones, Daniel Craig and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Even when she's not onscreen or on the red carpet, the actress is certainly intentional with her fashion choices. In June, she told Harper's Bazaar UK that she wore Chanel everyday during quarantine.
The Pride and Prejudice star said: "I thought, 'What is the point of these lovely things sitting in the wardrobe when it feels quite apocalyptic and scary outside?"
Keira noted that it happened at a time where photographers were constantly following her, and they almost got a glimpse of everything.
Keira recently revealed that she had tested positive for Covid along with her whole family and was feeling 'pretty rubbish'.
