Matthew Perry’s ex-fiancée has admitted he was “complicated” and “caused pain like I’d never known” as she opens up on their relationship.
Molly Hurwitz, 32, was engaged to the late star – who played Chandler in sitcom Friends – in 2020, but the couple went their separate ways in June 2021. Following his death on Saturday (October 28), the literary manager took to social media to pay tribute to the “very talented” star who died aged 54.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented. Our respect and appreciation of humour is something that connected us.

"But, I obviously knew that man in a very different way, too. While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known.
She went on: “No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship.
“I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Al Anon, an invaluable resource for those who love someone struggling with this destructive disease. Matty, I feel relief that you are at peace,” she concluded.
The beloved actor first rose to fame in the 1990s when he took on the role of Chandler Bing in the hit American sitcom, Friends. Since then, he has become an accomplished author following the release of his book, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir.
In the book, the Hollywood legend opened up about his alcohol and opioid addiction which has gone on to help fans all over the world also struggling with similar issues. Since his tragic death, his famous friends and loyal fans have shared their heartfelt tributes, including his famous Friends co-stars.
In a joint statement, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courtney Cox and Matt LeBlanc told People magazine how devastated they were at the loss. It read: "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates.
"We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able.

"For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.” It has recently been reported that Matthew's death is being investigated by the robbery homicide police despite there being no signs of foul play at the scene.
An initial autopsy was later "deferred" while the state performs a toxicology report. Investigators said no illegal drugs were found at his property although prescription drugs were spotted inside.
It is standard procedure for the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division to investigate high-profile cases including famous actors, according to the TMZ.
