Alison Hammond says This Morning stars ‘aren’t all friends’ after replacing Ruth

Alison Hammond has opened up about how close the This Morning stars are when the cameras are off, and she admitted some are not as close as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

The 45-year-old television star's remarks come amid reports she's replacing Ruth Langsford on Friday episodes of the ITV show.

Dermott O'Leary is reportedly replacing presenter and Ruth's husband, Eamonn Holmes.

Speaking to The Sun before the shake-up, former Big Brother contestant Alison said: "We're not on top of each other, do you know what I mean?

"Phillip and Holly, they go on holiday together. They genuinely love each other, in a brother and sister way.

"But literally when we finish everyone wants to go home to their families and see them.

"We've got it just right I think. But no they all go and do their own thing."

This Morning is yet to confirm Ruth and Eamonn's future on the show, and the presenting duo haven't addressed their reported "axe".

When contacted for comment, a This Morning spokesperson said: "We have a stellar presenting line up on This Morning in Holly and Phillip and Eamonn and Ruth.

"Any additions to this line up will be announced in due course."

Hammond recently shared a cryptic post on social media as rumours continue to circulate about Ruth and Eamonn's This Morning 'axe'.

She shared a photograph of a girl and a dolphin rising to the surface of the sea together on Instagram.

Alison captioned the post: "Strong people don't put others down. They lift them up".

She shared the post with her 796,000 followers, and one fan commented: "Never look down on someone unless you are helping them up."

While another added: "Well said Alison. You’ve earned your place, and the nation love you…"

"This is so true especially of you Alison, ever since your BB days you have always made me smile.", penned a third.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
