Bake Off winner Candice Brown rushed to hospital after suffering 'massive' asthma attack

BAKE Off winner Candice Brown has revealed how she was rushed to hospital unable to breathe after a severe asthma attack.

The scare meant she had to pull out of an appearance at a food festival.

Candice, 36, reassured fans she was OK after being given steroids and checked over.

She was due to appear at chef Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park festival in Warwick but instead posted on Instagram: “My body clearly started fighting a cold and cough in a weird, s**t way and gave me a massive, prolonged asthma attack.

“I’ve been pumped full of steroids. I have new inhalers. I feel like I’ve been dug up, look like I’ve been dug up and sound like Bane, but I’m alright.

“Anxiety and phobia hasn’t helped. Also I can breathe, which at about 6am this morning I couldn’t speak two words.”

Candice, Bake Off winner in 2016, last week told how the previous year had been “the hardest, most difficult, horrible of my life”.

She split from hubby Liam Macauley, was diagnosed with ADHD and her pub business was devastated by the pandemic.
