BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay announces break from show as he is replaced by co-star in hosting shake up | The Sun

BBC BREAKFAST star Jon Kay has announced a break from the show as he's replaced by a co-star.

The flagship morning programme is having a hosting shake-up for the next few weeks.

Jon, 53, usually fronts BBC Breakfast alongside Sally Nugent, 51, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

However, the journalist has announced he's taking two weeks off as he enjoys a holiday with his family.

Taking to his official Instagram last night, Jon told his followers not to expect him on the red sofa this morning.

He penned: "Enjoying some extra sleep and long planned annual leave with the family. So no need to set my alarm clock tomorrow.

Viewers instead woke up to Sally hosting the show with Beeb presenter Ben Thompson.

During the show Sally jokingly addressed Jon's break away, as they played a clip from Wimbledon that saw spectators being asked not to open champagne during part of a game.

"You know what I think that might have been our Jon Kay, who has just started his holidays," she quipped.
