Boris Becker has been defended after the tennis ace and his co-commentator John Inverdale found themselves in hot water over “sexist” Wimbledon commentary during a center court clash between Novak Djokovic and Marton Fucsovics on BBC. Becker identified Fucsovics’ girlfriend Anett Böszörményi on the screen and noted Hungarian women are the “best-looking women” sparking outrage from some viewers. But Becker has been defended over the complaints by GB News presenter Alex Philips.

Alex Philips told GB News: “Boris Becker and John Inverdale have been told off for sexism after calling a woman pretty.

“While commentating on the tennis Becker told the viewers the woman seen on screen was the girlfriend of one of the players. He said they do say they have the most beautiful women in Hungary I wouldn’t know that but she is certainly very pretty.”

“Women telling men off for paying complaints to women just make the world that little bit more miserable for other women,” she complained.

Ms Philips added: “I say bring back wolf whistles!”
