Charity and Cain Dingle (Emma Atkins and Cain Dingle) have always had a tumultuous relationship in Emmerdale but this time, their showdown could see Charity die after Cain accidentally knocked her to the ground in the Woolpack, causing her to hit her head.
Cain planned to help sister Chas (Lucy Pargeter) out as she has been having serious financial troubles keeping the pub afloat, meaning that she has had to resign herself to the fact she may have to sell half to Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).
While Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) is dead set against the idea and has reluctantly embarked on a racehorse doping scheme with Kim Tate (Claire King), Cain had an even less subtle idea and asked Aaron (Danny Miller) to distract Chas with lunch.
With Cain having knocked the power out, Chas was at her wits end and took Aaron up on his offer, while Cain snuck in, masked, and started emptying the till.
As he was then loading up a van with crates of spirits, Charity caught him in the act and confronted him.
He made a break for it, pushing her out of the way as he did so, not realising that he had badly injured her.
Charity has been rushed to hospital and Chas is now beside herself as she has been warned that her condition is on a knife edge due to a developing bleed on the brain.
A furious Aaron waded his way to the garage and caught Cain with the stock, ranting at him that he may have killed Charity.
Meanwhile, Chas has told PC Swirling that there have been problems with managing the pub – could he become suspicious that this was an inside job for the insurance?
Or, with Al smug that his offer has now decreased, could he be implicated in the crime to cover Cain’s back?
