Chicago Med continues to follow Dr. Natalie Manning and her struggle to keep what she did a secret. Also, Dr. Charles and Ramona reunite, but things go sideways. If you’ve gotten behind on episodes, here’s a recap of what happened last time on Chicago Med.
Will Halstead tries to keep Natalie’s secret on ‘Chicago Med’
Chicago Med Season 6 Episode 15 (titled “Stories, Secrets, Half-Truths, and Lies”), opens with Natalie (Torrey DeVitto) wheeling her mother, Carol, into the emergency department. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) rushes over to evaluate her condition.
Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) also comes over, but Natalie discourages him from working on the case. Crockett suspects Natalie and Will are getting back together. They have history (they were once engaged), so Crockett feels like there’s no way he can compete with that.
They might have a bond, but that’s all that’s going on here. Natalie and Will are hiding the fact that Carol has been taking stolen trial drugs. Natalie swiped the drugs when no one was looking and gave them to her mother. If word gets out, she and Will could lose their jobs. From the outside, all Crockett sees is Will and Natalie getting closer.
Crockett Marcel begins to doubt his medical ability
James, one of Crockett’s double-lung transplant patients, is having trouble breathing. Crockett thinks he may have accidentally botched the surgery. He confides in April (Yaya DaCosta) that he’s been distracted lately. “The truth is,” you were right,” says Crockett. “My head has been completely out of the game lately. And because of that, I may have cost this man his life.”
April says James’ X-ray looks like patients she saw while on the COVID-19 ward. Without Crockett’s consent, she orders a culture of the lung donor’s tissue washings. The culture results confirm the donor had COVID. On the bright side, Crockett is able to save one of James’ lungs.
Dr. Charles has a scare with a patient
Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) has a scare when one of his patients (Ramona) tries to harm herself. Ramona, who was introduced earlier in the season, harms herself so she can get attention. Whenever she arrives at the emergency department, she only agrees to treatment if Dr. Charles sees her. However, during her last ED visit, she suddenly disappears.
Weeks later, Ramona stops by the hospital to let Dr. Charles know she’s feeling better. She then asks him if they can go for coffee. Dr. Charles turns her down and tells her to make an appointment instead. She attends the appointment and asks again about “hanging out” and catching up. However, Dr. Charles says they’re already doing that at his office.
Ramona gets upset and storms off. In a later scene, Ramona calls Dr. Charles and threatens to jump off the hospital’s roof. He’s able to successfully talk her down and get her the help she needs.
Natalie confesses to Crockett
Crockett texts Natalie and asks her to meet him so they can talk. He tells her he knows something is wrong and asks if she and Will are reuniting. “If you and Will are getting back together, just tell me,” says Crockett. “This not knowing is driving me crazy.”
Natalie assures him she and Will are not getting back together. She then confesses that she stole drugs from Will’s trial. Crockett is understanding, but Natalie will have to face the music eventually. Will wanted to protect Natalie, so he told Sabeena Virani (Tehmina Sunny) he was the one who stole drugs. However, it’s just a matter of time before someone finds out it was really Natalie.
