Coronation Street fans praise brilliant van twist as Corey is finally charged for Sebs murder

Coronation Street fans were left delighted on Friday's hour-long episode as Corey Brent was finally arrested and charged for Seb Franklin's murder.

During the scenes, Corey and his father Stefan continued to hide out in a rented house after they realised the police had new evidence and made plans to flee the country, enlisting the help of Eli's dad, Christian.

However, Seb's mother Abi Franklin realised that the duo would probably use Eli's dad and she asked Gary Windass to help her track him down.

Gary managed to track Christian down and threatened him into driving his van to Corey and Stefan's location.

And when Christian pulled up outside the house, Corey and Stefan jumped into the back of the vehicle – none the wiser that Gary was secretly hiding behind it.

After locking up the van, Gary came over and demanded that Christian hand over the keys as he then drove the father and son straight to the police station.

After realising "something weird" was happening, Gary opened up the boot to reveal they were at the station and he declared: "End of the road, boys!" while Abi and Seb's girlfriend Nina Lucas were there to watch justice be served.

Corey was then arrested and it wasn't long until he was charged too as the police revealed that their new evidence, which were the clothes he had disposed of the night of the murder, proved that he had kicked Seb to death.

As he was led away to a cell in handcuffs, he pleaded to his father that he didn't want to go to prison as Stefan vowed to help him.

While lawyer Imran went to visit Kelly Neelan, who had wrongly gone down for Seb's murder and been sentenced to life imprisonment, to tell her the good news.

Revealing that he was launching an appeal, he exclaimed: "We are going to get you out of here!"

The episode ended with Abi and Nina sharing a heartwarming moment as they let off a firework rocket in honour of Seb.

Soap watchers were left delighted over the outcome and praised the "brilliant" van twist, admitting that they "weren't expecting" that.

One person said: "Well done Garry! That was the best thing I've seen in #Corrie I wasn't expecting that, totally serves Corey and his dad right!"

Another viewer penned: "What a brilliant plan!!!! Now let’s make sure Corey gets what he deserves!! #Corrie."
