Coronation Street legend Catherine Tyldesley sizzles in a swimsuit as she relaxes in 'bliss' by the sea

CORONATION Street star Catherine Tyldesley looked stunning in a red swimsuit as she soaked up the sun.

Catherine, 37, lay on her side and closed her eyes as she took in the rays while wearing the vintage-style swimsuit as she described being in "bliss" by the sea.

The Coronation Street legend showed off her toned figure in the red halter neck one piece, which was adorned with embroidered flowers.

She captioned the post with a a beautiful poem.

"Me, thee, the sea = bliss," Catherine wrote.

“In that shoreless ocean, at thy silently listening smile my songs would swell in melodies, free as waves, free from all bondage of words.”

Her fans loved the summery look and flooded her comments with fire emojis to indicate she looked "hot" in the swimsuit.

"Stunning hun," wrote one Instagram user.

Another added: "Beautiful lady."

And a third wrote: "Stunningly beautiful."

It is not known where Catherine is holidaying, but if she is abroad and in a 'green-list destination' will need to have two Covid tests.

This includes a pre-arrival Covid test, and also a test on day two of returning to the UK, but she will not have to quarantine.

However, if she is in one of the amber-list countries, Catherine will have to complete a mandatory 10-day quarantine at home as well as a Covid test on day two and eight.

Tourists returning from red-list countries will have to isolate for 10 days at a quarantine hotel, costing £1,750 per person.

Catherine also joked on her Instagram stories via a meme that "the internet" often comes after her when she says "diet is related to immune system health".

It comes after she overhauled her diet and lifestyle and lost 6st, going from a size 22 to a 10 more than a decade ago.

“I have to work really hard to stay a smaller size. Being strong and healthy and maintaining the size I want to be doesn’t come easy to me, I really have to graft for it," she told The Sun in April.

The Corrie darling competed in Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, followed by a gruelling tour for the reality dancing competition.

She told The Sun the turning point for her fitness journey came during a basic jazz workshop when she couldn’t keep up, was “the colour of a beetroot” and the dance teacher compared her to an Oompa-Loompa.

“That stays with you, but it was the wake-up call I needed. Being in a musical is like being an athlete – you’re doing eight shows a week and you have to be fit and healthy.

“It’s the same in TV – the schedules are so fast and if you’re off for the day they lose thousands of pounds, so being fit is hugely important for me and my career.

“But since becoming a mum [in 2015, to Alfie, now six], the main thing is just making sure that I’m on the planet for as long as possible, because I want to watch him grow up. I don’t want to miss anything. I want to be able to keep up with him when he’s running around like a maniac.”

She added: “And I know how hard it is, I’ve been there myself, but this last year should be a warning to us all to try to be as healthy as we can be. It’s not about being stick thin, it’s about being strong and healthy, eating a balanced diet and staying active.

“I don’t profess to know everything in nutrition, I’m learning all of the time – but now, more than ever, the government needs to look at that really seriously.”
