had been working with Ray Crosby (Mark Frost) to destroy Coronation Street and redevelop it in order to make thousands. Once Ray’s plan was unveiled and Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) revealed he’d raped her, the police took him in for questioning and it looked like the jig was up. However, Ray managed to avoid prison and instead signed over his business to Debbie before planning to flee the country.

Ray locked Debbie and her brother Kevin in one of the fridges in the Bistro in the hope they would both perish as he planned to start a new life in Turkey.

Fortunately, Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) found Debbie and Kevin, who revealed Ray’s plans and Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) managed to apprehend the businessman at the airport.

It looks like Ray will be facing a long time in prison and it would be understandable if Debbie wanted to leave the street with many of the Weatherfield residents angered by her involvement.

However, in Friday night’s instalment, Debbie discharged herself from hospital and contact Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) to ensure the papers signed by Ray were legally binding.

When Adam confirmed everything was in order, Debbie offered him a job with her company and promised he could make a lot of money.

She told him: “I’m planning on building the company back up and bigger and better. I need somebody by my side to give me very good legal advice. You up for it? Play your cards right and this could be the best decision you’ve ever made.”

“You and your lot were responsible for the sink hole in my wife’s garden,” Adam hit back. “You turfed the family out of their home.”

Debbie replied: “To make up for it, I’m giving you the chance to make a lot of money.”

“I don’t think that will go down too well with a lot of people around here, least of all Sarah,” Adam explained.

“So as tempting as it is, I’m going to have to say no.”

Debbie pushed him to agree, insisting: “People will forget and forgive.”

Adam admitted some residents might forget the chaos she caused but he didn’t want to get involved.

Despite the knock back, Debbie could be seen looking around the Bistro with a big smile on her face.

Kevin has only just forgiven his sister for her involvement with Ray, so how will he react when he finds out she wants to continue his business?

The newly-engaged mechanic will be far from impressed when he hears Debbie is planning to keep causing chaos in order to make money.

Things won’t be made any better by Abi who is determined to stop Debbie from ruining Kevin’s life any further.

Elsewhere, Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) agrees to sell drugs for his new friend Jacob as he realises just how much debt Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) is in.

Soap spoilers have confirmed Simon will get in too deep with the drug dealing with both his and Leanne’s lives at risk.

Next week Jacob will tell Simon he can’t get involved without testing the oviduct himself – will Simon agree to take the drugs?
