Coronation Street viewers were unimpressed with Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) as they thought he missed a few tricks whilst questioning Corey during the trial for the murder of Seb Franklin.
As Imran intensely interrogated Corey about killing Seb, fans were stunned as Corey burst into tears and claimed Kelly Neelan killed Seb as he begged her to stop.
But in harrowing flashback scenes, viewers were shown it was indeed Corey who landed the killer blows to Seb as he lay dying in the street.
Corey claimed he hadn't been able to stop Kelly, but Imran quickly pointed out that 12st and 6ft tall Corey was more than physically able to hold back 7st Kelly.
But viewers quickly noticing an omission in Imran's argument, as they pointed out that Corey was a budding footballer and therefore excellent at kicking.
One fan said: "Are we forgetting he knows how to kick, he kicks ball for county."
Another asked: "Corey is twice the size of Kelly, plays football and in his version of events somehow totally failed to pull her off Seb really?"
Corey's footballing past proved to give more potential for Imran to land damning blow about his guilt, which he unfortunately missed.
Tommy Orpington was seen taking to the stage to provide a character reference for Corey, and even said how he'd seen him break up fights between footballers on the pitch and what a calming influence he was at County.
Fans were gobsmacked that Imran didn't pick up the problem with that statement, which contradicted Corey's claim he couldn't manage to hold back petite Kelly during the attack.
One said: "Ah so he is strong enough to break a fight between two fit lads but couldn’t get Kelly off seb yes that makes sense."
Another added: "Corey can break up a fight between the players and yet says he couldn’t pull Kelly off of Seb? This is beyond frustrating."
A third asked: "Is no one ( #Imran?) gonna notice that the guy who stuck up for #Corey pointed out he broke up a fight between two players? Yet he said he couldn’t stop #Kelly from kicking Seb? Or is this part of the plan??"."
Viewers will have to wait and see what Corey and Kelly's fates are as the trial will come to a gripping conclusion next week.
Corrie airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
