David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) could be about to let Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) pay with his life for what he has done in Coronation Street as the warring brothers are pulled into a violent prison conflict – with fellow prisoners targeting a vulnerable Nick for violence.
With both siblings being remanded in custody ahead of their trial for breaking their bail conditions, their relationship behind bars is no better than it was outside and while David has experience of prison life, Nick is like a fish out of water, David gives Nick a word of warning not to get on the wrong side of his cellmate if he wants a quiet life but when another prisoner tries to force some spice on a frightened Nick, David can’t help but feel amused and gratified by Nick’s fear.
As Nick is forced against the wall by Ash in just a vest and underpants, David basks in his humiliation but later, things take a more serious turn when Ash sets out to attack Nick – and he warns David to make himself scarce. As Nick is terrified for his life, Ash moves in for the kill – but will David step in and save his life?
Or will he save himself and leave Nick to his fate?
Ben Price explained: ‘Jack and I do get on really well and because of that we are not afraid to be quite nasty to each other. It’s essential when you are going for it, you go for it. It’s very easy to work with Jack because we both recognise that, especially on Coronation Street, you have to show different sides of a character. This is a family story and that’s why I think they are such a strong family because we all play our parts.’
But could the Platts be torn apart forever?
