Max Bowden, best known for his role as Ben Mitchell in the BBC One soap EastEnders, posted a photo of himself on Instagram that had been taken two years prior at the National Television Awards.
Sporting a tweed suit that night, the actor had been nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the glittering event.
The actor captioned the image: “Been a lifetime since this photo #ntas.”
That’s when his co-star Jessie Wallace, who portrays Kat Slater on the show, penned a rather saucy comment below the snap.
She said: “Remember… if you need a m***e to cry on… I’m yer gal.”
Bowden responded to the tweet with three laughing emojis, seemingly finding her remark hilarious.
Other commenters, however, were howling at the comment, with some wondering whether the actress was attempting to chat Max up.
One fan said: "@jessie.wallace_official, Supportive m***e, I’m defiantly using this as a pick up line. Cheers Jess. "
Other comments on the post looked back at the past to the nomination for Bowden at the National Television Awards.
One fan said: "I loved that suit and you should have won!!!"
Natalie Cassidy, who plays Sonia Fowler on the show, took to heckling from her seat after Max failed to win the newcomer award.
After the winner of the award was announced, co-star Natalie could be heard shouting “f*** off” from the audience.
Later in the show, when Emmerdale won the Best Soap award, Max himself could be seen refusing to stand up.
Some fans claimed they saw him mutter, "I’m not f***ing standing up,” while he clapped in his seat.
Some fans called him a "legend" for his behaviour that night.
Bowden isn’t without dongs entirely, however, as in 2019, he won "Best Bad Boy" at the Inside Soap Awards.
Jessie Wallace herself has won multiple awards throughout her career – most notably, she has won “Sexiest Female” four times.
