EastEnders Syed Masood star Marc Elliot looks different 10 years after soap exit

EastEnders star Marc Elliot looks almost unrecognisable 10 years after his exit as Syed Masood.

The actor joined the cast of the BBC One soap in April 2009 and played the character until November 2012.

His storylines saw him fall in love with Christian Clarke (John Partridge) and his eventual acceptance that he is gay.

Syed initially married girlfriend Amira Shah (Preeya Kalidas) but later comes out, and entered a relationship with Christian, despite the pressures of his family and his Muslim faith.

Marc looks worlds away from his EastEnders character in snaps shared on his Instagram page.

He reunited with co-stars Samantha Womack, Rita Simons and Alex Ferns for the press night of The Girl On The Train.

Sporting cropped looks and a full beard, the soap hunk posed up a storm for the camera wearing a fitted white t-shirt.

Both Christian and Syed left Walford for a new life in America, leaving fans heartbroken.

Unsurprisingly, Marc's post caught the attention of his followers, with some fans rushing to leave a message for him in the comment section.

After leaving EastEnders, Marc joined the cast of Tape in the West End.

In November 2013, he appeared with The History Boys at the National Theatre 50 Years on Stage production, broadcast live by BBC Worldwide.

Marc made his first appearance as doctor Isaac Mayfield in the BBC medical drama Holby City, which he played until 2019.

Earlier this year, the TV personality appeared in the BBC’s Call The Midwife as Anglo Indian train driver Lionel Corbett in a train crash disaster.

It comes after Marc's on-screen dad Nitin Ganatra looked different during his appearance on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

He was back on our screens on Sunday (October 23) sporting grey hair and a matching beard.

Nitin played Masood from 2007 until 2016 and again from 2018 until 2019.

The character went through some very memorable storylines, including struggling to accept Syed's sexuality and his affair with Jane Beale (Laurie Brent).

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
