Ferne McCann has opened up on Wednesday's episode of This Morning where she revealed she was "mortified" to go on the school run after her voice note scandal back in November.
Ferne, 32, spoke to presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about the voice notes that were released in November on an anonymous Instagram account. She later admitted it was her speaking on the voice notes.
The recordings show Ferne appearing to make a series of derogatory comments about her former TOWIE co-star, Sam Faiers, 32.
In the recording, Ferne appears to comment on her former BFF’s appearance while also referring to her in negative terms: “Sam Faiers is a fat c***. Her thighs are so big, and I looked really skinny today and, urm, yeah.”
Ferne had previously told OK! that she wants to talk about it more, but that she's not able to do that at the moment due to an ongoing legal case.
And while she is still holding back on some details, she publicly apologised on the ITV show, telling Holly and Phil: "I'd like to publicly apologise to those affected. Obviously those words I used weren't pleasant. I have reached out privately to those people."
In a clip from Ferne McCann First Time Mum that was shown on This Morning, Ferne is heard saying: "Thank god for the school run. It sounds so stupid, but having that consistency every day was like a purpose to get up. Because I had to for Sunday."
She continued: "My only saviour was being a parent to Sunday. It was so bad. I am so grateful to some of the school mums. I was so embarrassed to go on the school runs. I was so mortified."
Holly then asked how the release of these voice notes affected her personal life.
She said: "It affects so many people, it affects my family, my agent, everyone around me. I felt hugely responsible when of course I was hurting.
"But of course, you have to get up, go on the school run, it was tough."
Ferne had also had voice notes leaked for a second time in November, as she was heard calling the the acid attack victim of ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins a “silly b***h”
Ferne’s ex Arthur, with whom she shares a five year old daughter, was jailed for throwing acid in a nightclub in 2017.
Ferne is heard saying in one of the voice notes about one of the acid victims, Sophie Hall: “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, the silly b***h has made a dress, a papier-mâché dress, out of the newspaper cuttings from the event.”
The voice in the recording continued, making further allegations against the organisers of the competition: “She’ll [Sophie] probably win it, I’m not gonna lie, only because the event and the awards that she’s entered, or beauty competition whatever it is, there’ll probably loving all this free press for their event.
“So they’ll probably fix it, she’ll win it. She is one ugly, f***ing c***.”
